Why 2 Subs Used For 1 Substitution? This Wasted A Player

Why 2 Subs Used For 1 Substitution? This Wasted A Player

See play by play below....

My catcher, Joe Torre, was pinch ran for in top of 9th as our team took the lead. In the bottom of the 9th Glenn Myatt was entered as his replacement, then right after that Mike Heath went in for Glenn Myatt.
That move then eliminated Glenn Myatt from the game if it went into extra innings and he didnt even actaully play in the game. Thanks

It's likely that Myatt was listed as the "backup" and Heath as a defensive replacement. So HAL was just following orders if that was the case.

Best to only carry 1 backup C to avoid that issue.

Thanks to both of you and you are both right......I too have seen the double digit amount of moves and that is how my team is set. Glenn Myatt is listed as the first replacement catcher in the depth chart and then Mike Heath goes in since Glenn Myatt is marked to remove for defense when have the lead.
