its deplorable to do anywhere. we all know how badly bernie and the programmers tried to make it so this couldnt be done... of course it can still be done, but for gods sake, WHO DOES THAT???? and im the slimeberg? this is the slimiest thing ive ever seen. someone is so scared of me that he has to use a super reliever to even compete! and i dont buy it for a second that petro just didnt know that the programmers were doing everything they could to avoid this type of cheating... unbelievable, i expected more from you, at least in this league, petrodusky...

Use some sense here:
Its not cheating to maximize the use of one of your players; unless it specifies something in the rules- such as having a specific number of a type of player.

There were 8 picks before Murray and no one else took him;
and the funny thing is- it aint like there are no other 4 inning relievers available who are good...

Thats akin to claiming no one can use gates brown for more than X number of at bats because he was intended to only bat 100 times :roll:

Hes in the set- wasnt my first choice to put in- but folks use him as they want...

If Bernie was worried about it he wouldn't have gone out of his way to add Murray as a new player addition a few months back. The whole point of the guy is the 4 inning relief rating. I sure didn't ask for him but I ain't gonna look that particular gift horse in the mouth.

But unlike Gates Brown, Murray did have a legitimate great year. Brown was just a bench jockey. But I'm sure he's a good bet to get drafted here. Just not by me. But if someone else uses him, how is that cheating? I don't like Mazzilli or Smith or Weintraub or Speer and wish they weren't in the deck but they are. And if someone uses them, and I choose not to, well that's their business.

Oh, it's cheating if we don't like someone using Gates Brown in a way that we don't approve of.

Whine Berg I worked on BPv.2 for almost a year with Bernie and the "super reliever" was discussed at length...And NO he DID NOT do everything in his power to eliminate this, he actually made fatigue rules for rps a little more liberal...Nor did he ever say it was cheating...Is it pretty damn unrealistic? Yup. But no more so than guys hitting 100 hrs and players like Gates Brown getting 500 abs here from a season that he had 92.

the difference being that you are 'forcing' his use in LF...
you cant 'force' Hal to pitch a reliever any number of innings- no matter what your settings are.

ITS NOT MURRAY. it can and has been done with 5 other rp... its just cheating. its gaming the system. playing strato in a way that the designers didnt intend. ive seen barney slutz pitch 388ip with a 2.32 in one ATG6 league.... its outright absurd... you guys can all claim to be as ignorant as can be on this issue, but each and every one of you knows that the programmers went out of their way to not let this happen. as with everything else, someone always finds a work around. heres a novel idea. why not just draft a legit team when one tries to beat me? it is not at all the same as using gates brown in more than 100ab. i could care less that those of you in bed with petro say ohhhhhh no its not cheating. each of you knows its just as bullsh1t as i do. i still am in utter shock that someone would super reliever cheat after challenging me.
