[quote:b22152a3b3="nevdully's"][quote:b22152a3b3]logical? let me repost. here is WHY it is cheating...

gates brown is priced to play the number of plate appearances that he will play. murray is priced to pitch 165 ip.

So if Murray was "priced differently" say 10m then you don't think 300+ innings from an rp is cheating?

What color is the sky in your world?[/quote:b22152a3b3]

Nev, can you answer the question for me since you implemented the current reliever settings, is the super reliever strategy considered acceptable?

[b:203d6bf8b1]Whine Berg earlier you said this [quote:203d6bf8b1]in an 80m league, there are still a lot of steals,[/b:203d6bf8b1] [/quote:203d6bf8b1]....Well by steals don't you mean guys that can sometimes far outperform their card? Is that cheating too? Linzy at .93 giving you 40+ saves and almost 200 innings in some of these righty dominated leagues...Is he a steal? Is that cheating?

[quote:64bebf3fd0="Petrosian"]Well let's see. Bbrool sets the prices. Why don't we ask him about your brilliant assumption that r3 are expected to pitch 165 innings. By that logic, though wouldn't an r4 be priced to pitch an expected 220 innings?

Oops, sorry. I'm confusing you with logic.[/quote:64bebf3fd0]
I have no idea what the pricing model does, it should do what you say apparently Brool and Nev have full knowledge of that, but I have always thought the pricing model is wrong and that is why I avoid R1 and R2 pitchers unless I really want them only for special usage or in big money leagues. R4 and R5 seem to be the best values but then again HAL is always looking to pitch those guys.

HOLLLLLLLLLLLLD UP!!!!!

If an RP3 is priced to pitch 165 innings and doubles it-

and Gates Brown is priced to bat 100 times and doubles it-

Explain again how they are dissimilar?

Right- because Murray is an RP4 and therefor isnt even doubling his total.

Well we agree on something. I think the pricing model also has flaws. How can Eckersley be lower priced than Hoffman. They are both r1's.
Eck has the better stats by far and the better card. Makes no sense to me.

Only Bbrool knows what the pricing model does. Certainly not Weinberg.

Hey Salt,

If nothing else we knocked it out of the park naming this league
"Weinberg's Nightmare League."

well all else aside-

I have a VERY difficult time with a few things.

1) when people make stuff up to try and prove a point

2) By their own logic they are incorrect

3) If Im supposed to be your (petros) Girlfriend now, because I have some odd idea that arguements have to make sense.
then freakin buy me some flowers and chocolate...Ill see if I can dig my dress out of the closet.

I prefer Milk Chocolate...or better yet, buy my dammed CDs so I can play more strat

gates brown is priced at 5.02 million. Inherent in that price is that he will get 350ab against righty pitchers.

i have no issue with someone using gates brown for 350ab a year, because he is priced accordingly. i dont care that he batted 92 times in real life. the 92 is irrelevant. all that matters is, the owner of gates brown is using him how the pricing model intended. now, if someone found a way to make gates brown bat 1100 times a season, something for which he was not intended to be used for, i would be going apesh1t. i would consider that cheating.

now, we have christy mathewson S9* versus any one of those big rp. take murray as an example. murray and mathewson have the same era at an average park. but one costs 10.55m and the other 5m. as a rough estimate, mathewson is priced assuming he will pitch 320-350 innings a year. one can easily back into what murray was priced at. now when someone finds a way to exploit murray, they are gaining 6m in salary in using someone in a way he was not intended to be used.

the same is not true for gates brown. regardless of the number of ab he had in real life, his price reflects 350ab vs righty pitching in a regular strato league. so anyone drafting gates, as well as any other batter, is using him how he was intended (aka how he was priced). is that cheating? of course not.

super relievers are cheating, and dishonest. we all know that. it is shady. below the belt. garbage. call me what you will. slimeberg. whiny. i play the game fairly, as it was intended. i know how to implement the super reliever strategy with several of the big ones out there. ive posted exactly how to do it in this thread to get 350+ out of any R3 or R4 without sacrificing era. i choose not to do it. ive always thought it was straight up cheating. im going to post a message in the barnstormers finals asking those guys if they think it is cheating or fine. if no one there is offended, then i dont mind doing it myself. obviously for the extra 6 or 7 million free cap that it adds, its a no brainer. i was always always always under the assumption that it was nothing but cheating. id be interested to hear what the general barnstormers population thinks about this, rather than a few of petros cronies.

every single one of you in this league knows that murray et al was not priced at the 300ip that petro will get out of him. therefore, to loophole and game the system is cheating in my mind. if the rest of you dont see it the same way, then so be it.
