salt: i dont see the fallback. you argued that R4 or R5 are crucial for those all important games where its close after 1-2 ip and very high scoring. i provided you stats based on every completed ATG league ever played as of January 3rd, 2012. the percentage is very low. irrelevant to me. i am taking actual statistics from every completed ATG league available. my point is, just because something i say seems off base, check each of my teams, my entire body of work, first.

petro has posted many times on the message board that he has been trying to trick HAL into using a super reliever. first with babe adams, then with murray. he knows its wrong in doing it with any pure RP. he knows its circumventing the rules. he has said so himself. so forgive me if i call him out for trying to cheat the system. and i think it says a lot that hes scared to just play fairly. where im from, thats not what men do.

motherscratcher: in many posts petro said he was trying to find a way to cheat the system by using the super reliever. to trick HAL. rocky marathon or not, how can you say that is what a man would do? especially in a challenge league like this one? to me, it sends the message that someone is afraid to go head to head with you, and that they need to trick HAL as to stand any chance of beating you. are you getting a different message?

1. I remember Petro's thread. It was one of many similar threads about maximizing relievers. he didn't say anythingto the effect of "I want to CHEAT THE SYSTEM! BWAHAHAHA!" It was more like: "hey, what settings to you use to maximize your relievers?"

2. I was thinking more along the lines of Commando and Rambo, but that's neither here nor there.

3. I'm not at all sure what your's or Petro's testicles have to do with any of this.

I realize you dont see that you are misstating things-
that's why I keep trying to correct you...

You are arguing a number of different points- so which do you want me to tackle first?

Pricing, cheating, winning pct., or 'what a man would do?'

I will combine the 1st 2 as they are related:

1.You stated that you knew the pricing model for players;
Therefor you can determine what 'appropriate' useage for each player is.
Right or Wrong (unproven in any way, since you have given but one unsupported example)
This, of course makes you the sole arbiter of weather a practice is acceptable- and you are so steadfast that you are now refusing to play in this league because of it...which brings me to

2. Being the arbiter of appropriate useage, you have now determined that anyone falling outside your definition is now cheating.
Since you claim to know pricing better than anyone else- one would assume that the rest of are merely ignorant rather than cheating.

3. You play in only 1 or 2 types of cap leagues. If as you say, 200 and Live are less skilled and more random, then anyone with half as good a winning pct as you should consider themselves at least as good.

4. Your definition of 'what a man would do' is based on the first 3 assumptions- In other words you have built a house of cards.
Furthermore- since we are getting into it- lets see what 'men' have done in history...

1. 99.9% of wars of all kinds- Gang, Turf, Nuclear etc.
2. Destroy-ed/ing the environment
3. that extermination thing...
I could go on...

Oh yeah and for women, 1 major strike

1. A woman gave birth to some of these 'men'.

But its just a game here, so all in perspective- no big thing.

Although I've never been one to back down from a fight and have certainly had my say on a number of issues in this forum, I have to say that if people focused on solving the world's problems with the same passion, time and energy as seen in this thread, the recession would be over, there would be world peace, hunger would be a thing of the past and Arabs and Jews would be skipping hand in hand in the streets of Jerusalem.

One can only hope.

I have a feeling that this thread will soon be consigned to the "restricted access" bullpen.
