Weinberg, I'll be the first one to admit it: I think (know) you're a really good player. You are. But if you were to "punt on this league" because of one pick your arch-nemesis made you truly are crazy. Who would win this league if it were to dissolve thanks to YOUR whining? I'm pretty sure Petro.
Everything both valid and invalid he has said about you would be justified. If anything, I'm a little happy Petro took a RELIEF PITCHER in the first round.
If this was such a huge concern/doomsday scenario for you why not say something at the beginning of the league rather than saw you'll "maul" the competition no matter who or what it be?
As I said earlier, getting 300+ innings out of a reliever is crazy and more importantly stupid.
I'm with you, it's REALLY unrealistic. That doesn't mean it's greatest strategy in this history of strat. If anything I think it hurts teams. Surely it doesn't make team into automatic division winners expecially in division with you does it?
To me, Bonds hitting 104 homeruns is more immoral than using a super-reliever. Notice how I didn't say cheating because it's not. Barry's card is suposed to hit ALOT of homeruns. Murray's card is supposed to pitch more innings because it's a R4.
I agree that when the card gets 300+ innings it's underpriced (Petro won't get 300 innings, he's not that stupid) but not by 5 or 6 million bucks. If Murray were let's say 10 million bucks he'd be awful. Teams couldn't spend as much on their entire staffs so the whole staff would be WAY worse than it would be with Mathewson or whoever. It's about the staff's ERA, not the individuals.
Come on Weinberg, stick around. If you quit now you'll look (and be) the biggest random expletive ever. But more importantly a chicken.
