Emart I think you missed the part that you must use the year that has the position listed on it if you draft someone. Meaning you would have to use the 6.15 Brett. You may want to repick. Unless I misread that rule.

Here is the part of the rules I was mentioning.

a. Examples: If Musial is drafted in the RF Round, his 1946 card would not be eligible for that manager to use at any time prior to the start of the season. If Stargell were drafted in the 1B Round, his 1971 card would not be eligible for that manager at any time prior to the start of the season.
b. If player is traded or dropped prior to the start of the season, all his cards become eligible to the new manager. If a player is dropped AFTER the season starts he can be picked up by any manager and his cards are eligible.

Yes, you would have to use the 6.15 Brett in LF to start the season. But yeah, if you want to take the cap hit, and drop that Brett after the season started, and make the move to pick up his better card, that's allowable, and up to you.
