And Ed- your theme also implies that we have to maintain a 10 man pitching staff, correct? (i.e not 9 or 11 after waivers?).

As we go we will add any clarifications to the master list to make it easier when the draft arrives.

clarification: if after waivers the rotation is an odd # then a 6-5 or 5-4 split would be ok.

as for the cheap pitcher theme, in the description the word CAN was used which could mean that you don't have to have a .5 mil pitcher thereby allowing you to avoid the impact of the theme. (If I didn't have a .5 starter then I would not have to start him) By using the scenario I put as an example a manager could avoid the effect of that theme with very little impact on their roster and salary cap. That was why I asked if MUST was the intent of the theme. I agree that the intent was every team start a .5 mil pitcher every 5th game. Just did not want to have a semantics ? come up as an issue later.

[quote:9a15297092="gfdwarf07"]I think the clear intent is that your 500K starting pitcher (which I read as $500K - in other words not 510K) has to start every 5th game. If you have 4 SP*'s you still have to run a 5 man rotation - takes some value away from SP*'s, but that's cool.

Is that correct Austin?[/quote:9a15297092]

That is correct.
You can have four SP* if you wish but every five games a $500,000 K starting pitcher (not $510,000) must start.
I believe there are 17 of those.
To make sure every team gets a shot at one no matter the round drafted no team can have MORE THAN ONE $500,000 K starting pitcher on the roster.

Cheapo Starting pitcher clarification No. 2

Postby BrotherA4him » Mon Jan 23, 2012 9:14 am

You MUST have a $500,000 K starting pitcher on your roster, but CAN have only one (this makes sure there is one available for everyone)

You then MUST start that $500,000 K starting pitcher every five games.

Hope that clears it up!

1. gfdwarf07 - Theme: Iron Gloves - Teams must start a "3 or 4" on defense at SS, 2B and CF. These players must stay in the starting lineup cards, even if injured (HAL decides injury replacements).
2. franky35 - Expansion draft - the first 3 rounds of the draft are limited to picks from the 4 expansion teams - KC, Expos, SD, and Pilots. Picks can't be cut.
3.Poppa Rock - Cheapo SP - Every team MUST have one $500K Starting pitcher, AND that pitcher MUST start once every five games. A team CAN NOT have more than one $500K pitcher who is eligible to start on the roster at any one time.
4.TallEd - balanced staff - each team must draft and maintain on their roster 5 RH and 5 LH pitchers

I'm interested

Postby memphisjohn » Wed Jan 25, 2012 1:31 pm

I did a couple of these a few years ago in the early days of ATG. However, I can't find the link to the 1969 players, can one of you provide that or point me in the right direction?

thx,

MJ

Wow...I can't remember what yesterday is let alone keep in compliance with this stuff LOL.

Can my theme be that each series my opponent must start the worst possible lineup against my team in all three games?

That way I have a legit shot at MAYBE stealing one out of three.
