Seriously, are you saying the Tigers payroll shouldn't rise about $105M? Why? The Yankees need at least a $95M advantage, $80M is not enough?
Mike Illitch is 82 years old. He's worth about $2,000,000,000 and he's built dynasties in two other professional sports. I appreciate that he's willing to spend $200M to give the good people of Detroit a viable team in 2012. Tiger fans figure we'll worry about what happens in 2013 and beyond during the next off season.
