The season has started!!

Postby Palanion » Wed Dec 21, 2011 10:11 am

Yay!
And I'm a solid 3-3 despite making no lineups, no pitching or batting settings, no mgr prefs, nothing... and Boudreau out 3 games and Yaz out 3 games...

Now if I can find more than one minute to look at my team and do stuff with it.

Now the BIG NEWS:
I've been looking at the calendar. This season will end around Feb. 20, which would mean the next season will begin about March 19. I already know that I am going to (still) be super busy through March for various reasons.
So... [b:c66a258b64]I need to relinquish my role as commissioner[/b:c66a258b64].
This has been a tough decision to make, but in the end it is not fair to you all that I have become a bit unreliable to run the league. It has become extremely rare for me to be in the forums; I play no other SN-SOM game other than SBDL (this is my fourth ATG6 team, three have been SBDL); and I see no change to this forthcoming.
I still want to play in the SBDL and specifically play with you guys. I love this league.

So, if you are interested in taking over as commissioner, please let me know via email ONLY.
In the event that more than one of you is interested, give me some reasons why you should take the reins, such as a long-time familiarity with the league, experience running other leagues, a more active presence (than mine) with the game and forums, you're related to Bernie, etc. I don't want "This is what I would do if I was running the SBDL" type reasons.
Deadline for expressing interest in being commissioner is January 16. I will announce the new commissioner by January 31.

At least I don't feel quite so bad about making no lineups, settings, etc........would have started Ray Caldwell instead of Mike Caldwell in the first game last night in a righty park and would have had Wilhelm with enough settings to get him in earlier in game 2 last night...........lucky that my SP's carried me opening night against Bill and that I beat the Big Train 3-2 on 2 Jim Gantner HR's and 1 by Christy Mathewson......

Bumping up for Season 24 retirement. I hope to have this done today but I need to get a couple of issues clarified with Bill first.

Regarding the fresh start idea

Postby emart » Mon Jan 30, 2012 6:16 pm

Guys,

There was a proposal offered that since we have a change in commissioner for the league that we essentially restart from scratch, with a fresh draft, new pool and all new divisions and ballparks. Based on the comments from those who responded and Bill's perspective, we're going to wait until the final letter grouping from the unused pool has been added before making any adjustments.

Following this upcoming season #24, there will only be one remaining group to be added, so for season 25 we will be automatically adding the group Hitters L,J,N, and then the unused pool will be exhausted. Once we are underway with season 25 we can visit the idea of a restart from scratch, or a partial restructure involving a division realignment and other smaller moves.
