[quote:a47925e8fb="Valen"]You can get paid to count pitches? Boy did I waste those years of college.

Hey, I'm a bean-counter now and a few years from retirement.

Think I can be retrained?

WTF does a pitch counter count - just the number of pitches or the type also - fastball, slider, curve, gopher-ball, etc.?

Pitches, beans, counting is counting!

Next time I see my friend, I'll ask her if her husband has to log the type of pitch as well. But does it really make a difference?

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if there was another guy who's "qualified" to i.d. the type of pitch telling the pitch counter "OK, that was a curveball; that's a slider", etc.

I like that job so much that I'd sign up for the "apprentice program"!

I am a huge Islander fan, Mike Bossy being my favorite. What a great job. And to think I had to throw bales of hay onto a wagon as a teenager.
