[quote:66532760d3]Finally, has anyone noticed that there's a hole in the card set when it comes to bargain left handed hitting corner OFers, particularly in RF, who are priced in the $4-$5.75 mil range, can play full time and are capable of batting .260-.280, with 30 HR & 100 RBI and can occasionally make a defensive play? When I build my teams at caps of $100 mil or less for righty hitters' parks, there are some decent righty hitters who fit the bill like Del Ennis, Sid Gordon, Dusty Baker, Raul Mondesi and Wally Berger. Even Jim Rice and the newly added George Bell can play corner OF and give good bang for the buck. But when building a team for lefty hitters' park and it comes to bargain full time lefty hitting corner OFers, the cupboard is bare. There are Baines, Callison, Parker and Walker, but they are not budget friendly, as they are all priced at $6 mil+. Reggie Jackson and Kirk Gibson give good bang for the buck, but are better suited for DH because of their defensive limitations. That leaves only Stan Spence, who is rarely used, and for good reason. I know some of you might consider Strawberry, but he's strictly a platoon player with his $5.78 mil card. [/quote:66532760d3]
IMHO, I think a player like you describe cannot be had. If he was able to do what you said, they're going to be 6+ mil. Left handed batters that don't have to be platooned and can produce those numbers are coveted and pricey.
