Mystery card game

Good, honest e-mail by the way. How about giving the mystery card game a try!! In my current 90's league, we are at game #105. There have been 234 moves so far. And it's not just the "bad" teams making the moves, the best team in the league has made 36 moves. True, trading can be tough and some don't respond to messages. But I find that two-thirds of the mystery card owners will respond to messages, at least some times. Try the mystery card game. I....DARE...YOU.

I don't really know much about the mystery card game. If I win a free credit this season I might try it. I am in good shape heading into the final 36 games all vs my own division. You never know though as obviously when a long stretch of you schedule is all vs your own division the standing can swing like crazy.

If I win a credit I'll hit you up with a PM and see when you are doing another mystery card league.

The price drops to $20 per team if you purchase a 5 pack. That is the way to go.

I hear you but honestly that isn't exactly a whopping savings for throwing down $100 at a time.

I like the credit system that is in place. I would throw out a suggestion that all 3 division winners should get a free credit and the Wild Card team should have to win it all to get any. Too much luck in a best of 7 series to give a free credit based on it when you could win 105 games in the regular season and lose to an 80-82 club conceivably. If a Wild Card team won it all they would still get 2 credits. If anybody else won it all they still would only get 2 credits total. I think that would be more fair but the credit system is still cool.

Frankly, the cost just doesn't bother me. $25 certainly isn't chump change, but I can spend $11 for a two-hour movie at the cineplex or $20 for a seat at a minor league hockey game. Once those are over, they're over. For $25 I have the enjoyment of waking up each morning and finding my teams getting swept by the likes of Rob Latorre, LMBombers, Fred Aaron or Yountfan. How much is fun like that worth? To top it off, my youngest daughter is playing her first SOM league. I paid for that! Of course, I gave her a choice - college or strat.

Well, she has the 2nd best record in the league and a 9 game lead over me after 21 games....

[quote:bf7d1cf178="Geoff Brookes"]Bernieh, and Strat-O-Matic, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I firmly believe that Strat-O-Matic makes the very best sports strategy simulation games. I have been playing them since 1971, at the age of 10, along with my brother who was 7 at the time. We are still playing these games. The baseball is the best of all, but the football is a great game as well. There is just nothing quite like them.

Taking control and ownership of the online gaming is not only a good idea - it is essential. It was undoubtedly just a matter of time before this recapturing and rebirth occurred. Congrats to Strat-O-Matic for having the confidence to make this happen. This is a necessary step to advancing the game with the public well into the future.

[b:bf7d1cf178]Bernieh, the interaction that you with have with gamers (including your response time) is amazing.[/b:bf7d1cf178] Please keep up the great work!!!! Your own passion for this game shows in everything that you do.

Let's get this party started!!![/quote:bf7d1cf178]

I echo that sentiment. And considering how busy bernie must be it truly is a humbling thing. I recall when I was trying to purchase a team for someone else Bernie was very on the spot and patient with me as I hemmed and hawed on how to handle it. I was really impressed. I got the feeling that he cares.

Guys, thanks for the congratulations and the kind words. I try to just go about my business every day, but I do admit that it's heart-warming to hear from appreciative customers.

And about earlier, I should be clear that, [i:44c2df57a6]as always[/i:44c2df57a6], constructive criticism is welcome too. There are certainly valid concerns related to this transition and I hope to be able to address them in the near future. Even the main comment from Valen I was reacting to initially is a perfectly valid opinion to have, and I don't blame him at all for sharing it here - I just would humbly like to see that addressed elsewhere, if it needs to be addressed. That's all.

Someone mentioned maintaining a FAQ about this project to keep you informed - that's my intention. I hope to can get around to that soon. I know you have guys have a lot of valid questions and concerns.

Just popping in to say thanks. And I love some of the creative thinking going on about the possibilities, like keeper leagues and such!
