This team went 48-33 at home and 27-54 on the road! That's right 27-54.

You MUST pay attention to the road as well...

I don't think that team is "tuned" to MM much--it's neutrally slanted to it. That was my earlier point on the hypothesis.

The point isnt that Kiki isnt adequate as a leadoff guy. The point is he's not a good value as a leadoff guy. You could have gotten the same stats or better for less money elsewhere.

Spending a lot of money on platoons really depends. But ultimately, the measure is runs and RBI--that's what an offense does.

Defensive considerations should only be considered in conjunction with the pitching staff as a whole, because your defense rounds out your pitchers' cards.

I agree with Nev that we're all pulling for you, hope you do well, and are offering the advice you asked for. When it doesn't meet your pre-conceived biases about how to construct the team, you're not agreeing with it.

That's OK, to each their own. But to argue definitively for the alternative when you asked for opinions...

Your 140 team is not a strong MM team and the money spent on the guys not tuned to your park, by virtue of your away record, shows that lack of value.

Hilltop example, which is similar, along the lines of the reasoning I was trying to explain. cheap platoons, and a lefty or two who are not the biggest investment. There were lefty parks, somewhat like your situation, hence my pitching staff.

Thanks Steven. I know that some people consider Biggio an under-performer but I'm at a loss to see who fits the park better thats left in my FA pool. I thought about the cheaper Gehringer or Alomar but they bring absolutely no slugging at all. I also thought about a cheaper platoon of something like Whitaker and Beckert or Maz. Still might switch to that but for now I am staying put.

i have never had even an acceptable season from either gehringer card. i hate them with a passion. never used alomar. i think you will be fine with the team you now have.
