p-s, underscoring just how irreplaceable you are will be our futile attempts to fill your spots...there just aren't any others like you.

Your news makes it a sad Sunday morning, Steve. I can't imagine doing a franchise or theme league without you. You've been a role model for me ever since I started playing.

Like others, I consider you a good friend, and, like everyone else, I will pray for your return to good health.

[quote:942a4de913="mrharryc"]God bless you Steve as you contend with this most difficult scenario.

I hope that the well wishes of so many here who've enjoyed your online companionship will provide at least some measure of consolation in these times. I'm sure we all would be thrilled if in the future your name reappears on the boards, but in the meantime take care of yourself - and sincere best wishes for the best outcome possible.[/quote:942a4de913]

I couldn't have said this any better so I'll just add my own prayers for you and your family.

Have not been in a league with you, but sorry to hear of your situation.

Wanted to correct info from Muttdoc about Social Security Disability. I retired from Social Security after many years of service. You are not paid for the first 5 months after the month when you last worked. The application date can affect how far back you can be paid if you stopped work in the last year. Depending on the State where you live, the claims processing time can vary, with the usual estimate being 3-4 months, at least here in Mass.

Some conditions and diagnoses are expedited, where the decision can be made in weeks. Hope yours is not so severe, but contact SSA as soon as you can.

God Bless you!

Steve:

I've had the pleasure of being in several leagues with you and have always found you to be a worthy opponent and class act.

I wish you and your family only the best as you deal with your health and financial issues and hope that you are soon back on your feet and can rejoin us.

I will keep you in my prayers. - Bernie W

Steve
I'll miss playing in the leagues with you. Your a great competitor.

Not sure what your disability is, but there are a lot of buisnesses that can be started from home and run on the internet.
Go to the library. There's a wealth of information out there.
Do something you'd love to do but never had the chance - maybe write a book. Contribute to your local newspaper as a columnist.

Again, the internet allows people to do things from home that were never possible before.
Keep your chin up, it's never as bas as it seems. Your friends will always be there.
