Have not been in a league with you, but sorry to hear of your situation.

Wanted to correct info from Muttdoc about Social Security Disability. I retired from Social Security after many years of service. You are not paid for the first 5 months after the month when you last worked. The application date can affect how far back you can be paid if you stopped work in the last year. Depending on the State where you live, the claims processing time can vary, with the usual estimate being 3-4 months, at least here in Mass.

Some conditions and diagnoses are expedited, where the decision can be made in weeks. Hope yours is not so severe, but contact SSA as soon as you can.

Not sure what your disability is, but there are a lot of buisnesses that can be started from home and run on the internet.
Go to the library. There's a wealth of information out there.
Do something you'd love to do but never had the chance - maybe write a book. Contribute to your local newspaper as a columnist.

Again, the internet allows people to do things from home that were never possible before.
Keep your chin up, it's never as bas as it seems. Your friends will always be there.
