I hope we are. I like the Wednesday releases of the new cards. Gives you a couple days before the pivotall Friday leagues. At least they are for me. If you want to jump in and start with them right away you can get your team in early and likely be part of a team filling before the cutoff and opening day is the next monday. Or you can wait until after the league fill deadline so it officially fills Saturday morning resulting in monday waivers.,
Monday waivers is a favorite of mine because I rarely have plans for Monday after work. By contrast I always have something to do on Saturday or Sunday. Plus I like having the full week to negotiate trades. Although as trades become more rare and truly fair offers international news that week is tending to feel like an eternity waiting for opening day.
Part of me is tempted to take a break and not start any more teams until the site rebuild is complete and the new trade pages hopefully give rise to more trading. Though a part of me suspects no tools will help unless they somehow motivate people to start sending out more fair value offers. Also tempted to put the brakes on and wait for some of those new stat reports being leaked to become available.
I have had such trouble getting fair offers in my last few leagues I have been tempted to just take that 11.6 mil CFer I cannot get a can of dog food for and offer him up to Nev or Salty with a blank check saying give me back whatever you can spare that I could make some use of. Almost pulled that trigger on the league where I had dimaggion and Lynn. Shopped Dimaggio hard with no takers and sat down one night and thought I am just going to give the guy to Nev, Unfortunately Nev was in a lefty park with a team full of lefty hitters perfect for his park and JoeD was not a good fit. Did not want to risk one more rejection because one of the best CFers ever was not a fit for the park.
