Ive sworn off the 200 million level a couple times- but the truth is that its fun.
No question you have to have a good drafting strategy- that is essential.
But the strategy might just be a lot different than what you would use in lower caps-
ie you cant just put on guys that fit- you really have to strategize about where you can put em and how to deal with it if you miss picks.
Ive had bad drafts even doing that- but its still fun.

It may not be for everyone, and there is definitely a learning curve-
but you arent going to win just based on drafting the best players, you still need ballpark, team strategy etc.- and a lot of it.

I'll agree to disagree....When you're rank 12th in the waiver process it means you got more of your card, (either points or players) than anyone else...Select better players for your card next time...or just quit...but you screwed draft the draft didn't screw you.

nev, I meant to say I was first not 12th. I had the fewest players I had requested, which is why I referred to myself apparently not knowing how to draft in $200 mill leagues. Plus, that was the whole point of my post; if you don't get who you request you're pretty much screwed. If I had gotten everyone I requested I don't think I would have posted...

HRU you tried it twice. Twice! How good were you at anything the first or second time you tried it, 80m, rollerskating, tying a tie. Quit if you want and just play lower caps but you played twice.

Now I'm being selfish here because give or take a few newbies its the same 2 dozen guys that go around the same mulberry bush filling these 200m and thats not much fun...A lot has to do with reading posts like yours..Guys try it once or twice and quit...then others won't even try it.

Turn those 2 into 2 top rps and two big bats...I don't like to throw sps on quick hook but here your sps are just ok so hope they get you 6 and the go to the pen....Gates Brown is a solid DH vs righties so go get him too.

I have never played in a 200 million dollar league, it is just not my cup of coffee for this very reason. Too much luck is involved in the auto draft (or at least that is what I would surmise). Your team does not look bad, it is just not tailored to your park. I would stick to the 80 million dollar leagues, or if you want a team full of Hall of Famers do a live draft. Most importantly don't let all the naysayers get you down, there is always a lot of luck in this game and you did say that you started strong in your division, who knows, maybe you will finish strong. Good luck and remember to have fun because that is what it is all about.

Always a bad idea to try saying what someone else is saying. But rarely let something being a bad idea stop me before... :lol:

I think part of what Nev is saying is that the autodraft is not all luck. There is some skill involved. If you have only done a few of them your skill is not likely very high which would tend to lead to bad drafts. But as you play more of them your skill should improve leading to fewer bad drafts and more good drafts.

I wonder if it might be helpful to have a thread where we discuss what different people do to analyze their draft results. Think I will start one for fun.
