Good luck with that one boys. With Mark Clear, Joe Sambito and others, it looks good on paper. Avoid righties, avoid lefties, quick hook, 1-2 innings, blah, blah, blah,,,,,
I gave up trying to make this work. Six relievers to choose from might help, but Clear and Sambito and others routinely have ERA's like 7,8,9.00. You look at batters faced and no way they are pulled quickly when facing an opposite sided hitter. Way too many at bats for lefties against Clear, and his Opponents BA against lefties is like .400. Same with Sambito.
Moriarity and I discussed this issue multiple times, WE cannot make it work. So I go with three or four stud relievers, no specialists, no cheapies. Work em to death. Better to have Mariano or Bruce Sutter or Dale Murray on mound no matter who bats than have Mark Clear face two righties, two lefites, two righties and two more lefties.............[b:92ae9da91a][/b:92ae9da91a]
