Good job! 2nd place (RS record). OBP is key.

Not too shabby! As the proud owner of the 1st place record holder for that (1535 just tooting my own horn cause that is one of my favorite teams I ever had), I say congrats but Im glad you came up short.

The 1,413 walks didn't hurt either.

Those numbers for Barry Bonds make my eyes hurt. The one that really catches my attention however is 88 strikeouts. Unless you're in a theme league with deadball pitchers I doubt you'd ever see anyone wind up with more HRs than Ks in this sim.

I can imagine the conversation simulated Barry had with his mommy after the season was over:

"Hi son, how'd your season go?"

"OK I guess mom, I scored 207 runs and had 282 RBI. Topped 100 homers this time around. I knew I could've done better if I went a little more often to the gym instead of signing autographs."

"Don't worry son. It'll turn around someday. Like I always say, there's always next year."

:)

Bring it on Munich Man! I am a fan of your offensive masterpieces. And I agree with what you said about ob%. So many guys build a bomber team based on homeruns and fail to win.

Eddie Joost at SS hit 34 homers and 111 RBIs? 103 wins and no 20-game winners? Tex Pruiett 12-2 at 1.02M salary? Chuck Hiller, Dick Groat, Jose Cardenal, and Tom Grieve were sent home after the playoffs without bonus money for not hitting a homerun during the regular season. Management declared them "not team players"... and were fined heavily.

Great team...I love it. :) :) :)

Does make one wonder how no one seems to have a problem with cards like Mazzilli/Smith scoring 193 runs and guys hitting 100+ hrs and almost 300 rbi but then they complain about the super reliever.
