1 left, but doesn't matter now, can't change frenzy back now ( I don't think). Jugslavin can try if treyomo gets in, but I think we're too late now.

just re-read treyomo's post from page 1. He said he can't make/load a team until Monday....and to give his spot away if this wasn't o.k.

love to have treyomo in the league, so I guess we're on hold til then. That Saturday Frenzy time will probably have to be changed again.

unless the commish (2cityfan) has heard otherwise.........

Monday night at 8 PM is not a particularly good frenzy time

Postby BDWard » Sat Feb 25, 2012 2:13 am

I understand the frustration with having to set the frenzy time again and again while trying to accurately gauge when the league would fill and while I certainly understand that no frenzy time will be ideal for everyone, putting the frenzy at 8:00 P.M. Eastern time on Monday is not a particularly good choice, as many league members may be making final tweaks at that time on opening night for new teams, while others will be making tweaks at that time for the games for their existing teams.

If it has to be Monday night, I think 10 P.M. Eastern time would be better, as our tweaks should all be done by then. Actually, early Sunday evening or 10 P.M. Eastern time Tuesday evening would be much better, but I understand the uncertainty surrounding the fill time for the league.

Personally, while I understand that we are all eager to see our teams and get the league going, once it became apparent that the Friday night deadline for the Monday start would not be met, I fail to see any urgency to schedule the frenzy, as we all have a pretty good idea who will be on our team due to the franchise nature of this league and the league won't be starting until Monday, March 5 anyway.

I hope the frenzy scheduled for Monday at 8 P.M. Eastern time gets rescheduled at a more practical time.

I don't even understand why this was set up as a frenzy, especially since this was advertised as a waivers league. Sure, most of the players are franchised, but there are others that have dual citizenship as it were. I probably wouldn't have joined had I known it was going to be a frenzy (living six hours ahead of EST, any time set is going to be in the wee small hours of morning). Oh, well. :?

This should not have been a frenzy

I agree, Bill. To the best of my recollection, 2cityfan's previous 24 team franchise leagues have NEVER been set for a frenzy and I believe it was an error to create the league as a frenzy. With the league full as of Saturday morning, we'd all soon be looking at our teams and doing waivers at the normal waiver hours on Monday instead of having to rush through things with a frenzy at a bad time Monday night.

[b:2a17060df6]INSTEAD OF HAVING AN ORDERLY WAIVER DRAFT, WITH A 24 TEAM FRENZY, LEAGUE OUTCOMES MAY BE DETERMINED BY WHO CAN TYPE THE FASTEST, NOT WHO PLANNED THE BEST TEAM. THAT'S JUST NOT RIGHT.[/b:2a17060df6]

2cityfan, this league is your concept. Why don't you step up to the plate and contact Bernie and ask him to change this to waivers to take place Sunday afternoon or at least get the frenzy time changed? Bernie did exactly that last SATURDAY pursuant to the request made in the thread below, so there is some precedent for Bernie taking action on Saturday:

i'm in the same boat as many of you. the first post gave me the impression that this would be an autodraft. i'm not interested in doing a frenzy and frankly, wouldn't have joined had i known. Pete K

So.........where would the "frenzy" phase come in - scrambling at 8 p.m. Eastern for those undrafted players on multiple franchises that weren't locked in because of not originally being drafted and secured by the "player goes to highest priced franchise player" rule?

I Don't Understand

Postby kramers » Sat Feb 25, 2012 10:11 am

Why is there an issue? My understanding was that all players for your franchise, are yours to use as you see fit. Frenzy or Waivers makes no difference because you can only select players that were eligible to be drafted in the first place. Have I missed something?

I believe the creator of the league, Jugslavin has ALREADY sent Bernie a couple notes (yesterday) requesting this league to be changed to a waiver league.

kramers---it matters because if a player (ex. Frank Robinson) is carded to 2 teams, then the highest priced one has rights to autodraft him. After that, if he isn't autodrafted by the team that has his rights, he CAN be picked up by the other team(s) that he is carded to. In the F. Robinson case, if the Orioles don't autodraft him (which I'm sure they will), then the Reds could pick him up in waivers/frenzy after the autodraft runs.
