...not in this league. Only carded players are permitted to be drafted in the free agent draft. But I would not like an autodraft at all.

I am in for this year. However, it gets tiresome with all of the rule changes/proposed rule changes. That's one reason I bailed as commish (besides the time constraints). The best leagues I'm in run smoothly because the rules are set and there are very few objections or changes to them.[/quote:8abd2965c0]

I am really leaning toward not changing anything. This league does need to stabilize. But, the draft does drag on and I am looking for ideas to fix that.

I agree Turtle, the draft does drag on...and on...and on...and on. But, the team owners need to take a little responsibility and make their picks in a timely manner.

I feel like a hypocrite for making yet another suggestion for you to consider. But, maybe there is a way to penalize teams for not making their picks within a day or so????

We could say if you don't make your pick within 24 hours, you lose that pick. To complete your roster, that pick would be moved to the end of the draft. And/or, if it happens twice, you lose your 2nd round prospect pick...a third time you lose your first round prospect pick.

Not that I'm against penalizing, but this seems like too much work for the Commish. Skipping is enough of a penalty. I can't remember offhand, we're using time slots after the first round, right? Were they one hour slots?

Turtle, it doesn't seem like there's a lot of consensus. As such, I think your instinct to stand pat makes most sense. Maybe we re-evaluate right after the draft when the wounds haven't healed?

I'm encouraged that we have 18/24 managers who have checked in since the initial announcement was made less than two days ago.
