Postby 1979mark » Thu Mar 01, 2012 9:47 pm

i switched porter for macky and moved edmonds for a torriente/kuntz platoon

figured i get some extra bc they are 3 position players so they can platoon the whole OF

tried to move gehrig for mays haha but yeah that got declined

thanks for the help, good to see there are people willing to help, then smash my team with theirs later

I am new to ATG6 as well and I had good luck with Biz Mackey and Joe Kelley in Royals 1980. Here they are:

I would swap Mackey for Cochrane. I have had Mackey on numerous teams and the guy has never produced even a single adequate season. One of the biggest under-performers in the set.

Mark,

Not sure how many numerous is and what the conditions were, but according to Mackey's previous actuals:

Mackey had been used in Petco 05 at 140M to a win % of 519.
Overall at 140M to a 507.

And his card shows he is not a bad choice. Remember that defense matters even though it doesn't show up in the stat line. It's more than errors, especially for guys behind the dish.

Mackey isn't the greatest value, but he's not a terrible one.

I am not new to Strat but I am new to ATG6. I think your team looks good, except maybe for Lou Gehrig. I am not sure if Gehrig is right for your park, but the rest of the guys look good. What do the others think of Gehrig in your park? Either way, good luck and have fun.

i know are looking to use delahanty in CF, but his 1894 card kills it. personally, i have had more good seasons from mackey than cochrane.

gehrig fits anywhere, and he could use the power on the road.

yeah im still debating between mackey and cochrane

as for cf, i had delehanty on his 1894 card but he could only crack my starting line-up, only as a dh with that card and i had no cf......

plus a 3 position 1 at defense, 427 obp and 10 $ clutch signs has to count for something considering its 50k less than that 1894 season

i mean the best i could come up with there was a platoon betwen lynn, or toriente, or dobi and wth this kuntz guy at 2 mil

il keep looking for options, but i have delehanty, i can always switch his card nd hunt for a cf when the season starts
