Disgusted

I am one of the guys that Salty spoke about. If you make a new ID, which I did a couple times, you get 2 teams for $14.95, or at least I did a few weeks ago. Not sure if that is still available.

For me, I don't care what my manager rating is., so changing my ID is not an issue. I'll never play as much as most of you (maybe 2 teams per year), so my rating would never get very high anyway. I enjoy it very much, am pretty good at it, love reading and researching on the message board, and can't wait for the date a search function is enabled.

I have made a pont of letting all the managers in this league know how these player dumping moves hurt the league and I hope this individual reads and understands what I am talking about and discontinues his actions. That being said I will wait a little longer before posting his name.

Just thinking out loud, but could it be somebody playing two teams in same league, and they set up a new manager username to use for their bad team while using their regular manager name for the good team?

I have run into a manager from time to time who likes to make a lot of moves. I love it when they are in my division and hate it when they're not. However, if someone is playing poorly--as long as they aren't trying to lose--who am I to say how he should run his team? Education can help and hopefully they will learn. But some people just seem to enjoy shuffling their team despite the consequences. (You might also try to steer them to the mystery card game where such moves won't necessarily cripple a team!)

If this is the case the important names would be those who figure to profit the most, those in the same division. But pointing a public finger at them if they are not guilty would be wrong. Plus it would be necessary to accuse all 3 in that division meaning even if it is true you trash the reputation of 2 people to maybe out one guilty person. I would be ticked if I were one of those innocent people.

I personally prefer to err on the cautious side when it comes to reputations. If you are going to publicly accuse any of wrong doing make sure you know for certain you are right. Once you publicly accuse you will never be able to take it back.

It's a public league and he paid the money for his team so its his perrogative to make any changes he sees fit. It may upset the competitive balance of your league a bit, but in regards to this game, who's to say what works and what doesn't? I've seen Forbes Field teams with one dimensional sluggers win and small ballers in Polo or Fenway win as well. Unless you know for sure that he's tanking on purpose, the rookie is just going through the normal learning curve in this game - just like the rest of us-go with the flow!

Here are the rules from the website:
[i:6a0ea27c2f]"Tanking. You may not intentionally throw games, under any circumstances.
Salary dumping. You may not jettison talent from your team, hold a "fire sale", or otherwise make wholesale changes to your roster that reduces the overall salary value of your team.
Collusion. You may not conspire with another manager, by making trades or by changing your team settings when playing against that team, to achieve any sort of anti-competitive goal, e.g. to help a team win, or to gang up on another team.
Offensive language. You may not communicate with other managers in a manner that they could find offensive.
If you violate any of the above rules, at our discretion, SportingNews.com will seize control of your team and you will not be eligible for a refund. Repeat offenses will result in a ban from ever playing the game again. "[/i:6a0ea27c2f][/b:6a0ea27c2f]

Once your freedom to do as you wish impacts the other 11 or 23 players, it's no longer just your $20 or $25. [/color:6a0ea27c2f]

There is a limit of 125 players per season. If it's Kriff it's nothing new, and repeat offenders should be reported.

And by the way Shep[/color:6a0ea27c2f]--it's a loophole that someone can get additional teams for a new username. The intent is clearly that it's a new player recruitment/referral reward...not a new username incentive.

[b:6a0ea27c2f]1787: there is no point in posting and complaining if you're not willing to advise Bernie so he can investigate and possibly take the team over. I don't mean that to sound disrespectful, but just that there is a process to remedy this and it seems to have bothered you.[/b:6a0ea27c2f]

This is a good argument for why the pricing should NOT be much lower than where it is at.

Not sure I see the connection between pricing and what has transpired here.
