Great question. When a SP does not make it to 5, it is up to the Official Scorer to determine who the "winning" pitcher is. I guess HAL didn't want to have to read the boxscore and went with the last pitcher used.

In cases where the starter does not go the requisite 5 innings but leaves the game with a lead that is never relinquished, the win is given to the "most effective relief pitcher". Hence it is a judgment call. I guess in this case HAL decided that was Crandall. Thinking most official scorers would have went with Drucke but not sure.
