I never play the new cards, just ATG, so maybe this is standard operating procedure. But how come all these starters in the 2011 game have *?

I am a big Tigers, and therefore Justin Verlander, fan. And I know Leyland said, even in the playoffs, that he wasn't starting Verlander on less than four days' rest. These days, no starter goes through the season pitching on every fourth day. Some guys will do it in a few times in special situations.

Is this just the way the new cards are drawn up? It seems pretty unrealistic, or am I missing something here?

SP's usually need 32 or 33 starts with around 200IP's to get the *.

Yes they have become primadonnas compared to the ATG SP's...

No offense Bernie, because I know how hard you work for us, but the pricing this year is a bad joke. Pedroia, Victorino, Rollins, etc... are all ridiculously priced given how poor to just average they are vs RH pitching. Did someone forget this year that RH SP's still make up 70% of the set. Hitting vs LH's "ain't that important." In addition, the premium charged for the 1 defenders is completely out of whack with reality given their poor offensive cards...

I feel for you bernie. you will never make everyone happy. Thanks for your efforts. If only you could make an alternate set with all of the fluke cards included so everyone could stop complaining.

You guys could use the unleashed set and let your keeper league commish or a panel decide who to exclude. Just a thought.

If you find them overpriced, then draft with confidence the lesser defensive players. :) :)

Last season he's under $1 million.

This season, same injury, same card and he's over $4 million?

I'm throwing my hands up in the air. I give up and won't say another word about the pricing structure or about guys who should be included.

I just needed to vent a little.

I'm not sure I'd call that the [i:5e3fd6c5c5]same [/i:5e3fd6c5c5]card. Offensively, the 2010 card was really really really bad whereas the 2011 is only really bad. But, yes, the $ difference is pretty substantial.

My guess is that the 2010 card is so bad offensively that he could not be an everyday player and only a defensive sub (despite the fact that he [i:5e3fd6c5c5]is [/i:5e3fd6c5c5]an everyday player - maybe that's part of Seattle's problem....), whereas the 2011 card is just good enough that he could be an everyday player in the right situation.
