I don't like the idea of fluke cards being added. With one exception, if someone drafted a player as a prospect, Lawrie for example and he were to get a fluke card. I would feel differently about that than someone drafting Parmalee in the FA draft.

That's a great point Rosco. It really should come down to consistantly drafting, tweaking, and prospecting both for the present and for the future. Having the 10th best hitter fall into your lap out of nowhere rewards players who through bad luck or poor decision making over the course of a season or two, and makes them on par with those who planned accordingly. I'm not so sure the player who has Pujols or Fielder would feel too pleased about having the inferior 1st baseman in 2012.

Imagine the scenario where a manager needs that one player to put him over the top and the headline reads:

Trade Announcement: The PonyExpress trades Albert Pujols to Roscodo for Chris Parmalee. Roscodog to confirm.

If you can get Pujols I'll draft Parmalee if you want to make that deal.

Rosco this is the biggest reason why I feel the unleashed set should be used in keeper leagues. When you sit on an uncarded prospect for an extra year or 2 you should get the the luxury of using him when he finally does get a card even if the card is a "fluke"

Jerlins-We all do these kinds of trades every year so it wouldnt be anything new.We trade for players we think will put us over the top for players that will help someone next season. That is baseball.

Now we all talk about certain fluke cards that werent included and also cards like De Aza and Sal perez that are amazingly left out of the regular set(KC only has 1 catcher on their roster BTW)
But what about cards that are included that shouldnt be included? Giambi(131AB),Lawrie(150) and Ike Davis(129) are included but why?We have no problems with them being included??Parmalee,to me, is probably the only uncarded card that would make a huge impacta in the set.

What is a fluke card?? Whose interpretation are we using??

To me the biggest "FLUKE" card in the set is [b:9370d7a198]JOSH JOHNSON[/b:9370d7a198]He pitched 60 innings and he is the 3rd most expensive pitcher in the set???I have him on 3 keeper teams and I still cant believe he is carded(the explanation is he is an established player but come on he pitched 1 month and nobody believes that if he pitched the entire season he would have kept up those numbers.

Our draft occurs after the cards come out so if you want to draft Parmalee with that 1st pick so what?? I still remember I took Harden with the 1st pick and left Longoria for Jerlins to take with the 2nd pick
