cheating

Postby crackerjaxon » Tue Mar 28, 2006 9:24 am

So, who in the hell is it? Inquiring minds want to know. Personally, I've always thought the people who know how to look at a league before it is formed and ascertain their opponents' home ballparks are cheating, too.

As of right now, this loophole still has not been addressed.

Does anyone know if Bernie is aware of it?

Has he addressed it in any way?

I believe this link will take you back in time to a page that shows the managers' IDs:

http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/atg2/league/standings.html?user_id=xxxxxx

Just go back and find the manager's IDs in the statistics page and fill them in to the "xxxxxx" part.

Good luck! Post your findings here please!

You can only do this after you join a league. And once you join a league, you can't go back and make changes to your team anyway. No unfair advantage is gained.

Adrian,

Once you join a league, but BEFORE it drafts, you can see "who" is in the league meaning team name and manager's "name". This means the name the manager picked for the team, so it may or may not be the manager's TSN user ID, so it's not always useful as far as that goes.

You can also see what park each team is playing in.

This is not a huge secret, nor in my opinion is it cheating. This function has been discussed a number of times on the boards. And is not being hidden from anyone. Anybody that does not know how to do it, feel free to set up a new post on the subject and I or someone else will gladly explain how it's done.

Personally, I wish they would make that an inherent part of ATG 3, that you can see the TSN ID of the managers in the league and the parks they are playing in BEFORE you even join the league.

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply that you had to wait until the league drafted before you could see the managers and figure out their stadiums. You [i:992d48e7cc]can[/i:992d48e7cc] see the TSN user ids in a league you join before it drafts and you [i:992d48e7cc]can[/i:992d48e7cc] figure out the stadiums too. What you [i:992d48e7cc]can't[/i:992d48e7cc] do is make changes to a team once you've entered it in a league. So I don't see where there's cheating in that situation.

The only possible way to gain an advantage would be to exit your pre-draft league--by joining another league--then creating a new team with a different stadium/approach, and rejoining. I've never heard of anyone doing that.
