'Our Tigers will win' they all think at first glance.
The bases are jammed, just one down in the ninth;
The Cub pitcher, a rookie, about to soil his gray pants.

His pitch is a skilled one, Cobb's swing not as good.
The scorecard's last entry puts Detroit in it's trance;
6-4-3 "Cubs win!" "Cubs win!"
