As far as prospects I have no problem with guys like Freeman, and Alonso being prospects in fact I like it.

I would not like guys like Brandon Webb to be able to be drafted as prospects however, which under the current rules would be possible. In many ways Alonso is still a prospect that could not be said for a guy like Webb or Borbon who Niners dropped.

just my 2 cents.

So I think the question is guys with significant MLB experience getting drafted as prospects. We need to figure out what the cutoff point is for how many at bats or something. The way I prefer the rules to read is that the that cut off is if you've ever had a card on SOMO. Currently the rules would state that anyone who is not cardEd is considered a prospect.

I agree with you 100% RANT. I think that should be the rule. If you have NEVER had a card you can be a prospect, if you have then you are not available. It would simply mean that guys like Borbon would not be available at all this year, but that would make next years FA draft even deeper potentially.

[quote:48b67dee49="Rant"]We're a go. Draft starts on Monday morning. All owner drops will be final as of the end of the day today (Friday, March 9). Owners may begin picking anytime, but the roster won't be updated and drops finalized until the end of the day today. I'll start a draft thread.[/quote:48b67dee49]

All the drops are in. :D

[b:48b67dee49]*[/b:48b67dee49]I've added all the drops from the drop thread to the available players list. I just cut and pasted them and added positions. They are in a 3rd category, HITTERS, PITCHERS, then DROPS.

Again as players are drafted I will update this list best I can. Hopefully I didn't make any errors on the available players. If I did I apologize in advance. If you notice any, let me know and I will make the corrections.

As for prospects you may want to check the drop lists for prospects who are released back into the prospect pool. I will not be updating the prospect list any further other than deleting selected players.

HAPPY DRAFTING

Zim needs to repick. Dee Gordon SS is not available. I made an error on the available players list, he is on Ray's roster as a prospect. The only reason I caught it is that I made a trade offer to Ray for Gordon earlier today.

Again if everyone can please just look at the available players list atleast just to check that your own players aren't on there.

I'd suggest sending him a PM and/or an e-mail if you have his address

Just a heads up, if this is the way we are going, and I'm fully in support of it BTW, then De Aza would not be eligible as a prospect. He had a card in the 2007 set when he was with the Marlins.
