[quote:50225542b4="qksilver"]I know the playoffs are luck once you get there Bill - I probably know that better than any manager in TSN actually - look at my playoff % vs. playoff win % sometime. Last year 13 of my 15 teams made the playoffs, 4 won titles, and I had 5 100+ win teams get knocked off by lesser teams. So I know a bit about the luck factor in the playoffs.
But what I mean is, the huge cards bring too much luck [i:50225542b4]into the regular season records[/i:50225542b4]. A 13M card over a 6M card for position players is a 5-7 win differential by my calcs over the season. That's very easily the difference between making the playoffs or not, too much impact of one player on the playoff races.[/quote:50225542b4]
Not my quote but this sums up another reason I'm for it:
[quote:50225542b4="keyzick"]I actually like the idea of the flukey players showing up in the keeper leagues, primarily because it gives the crappier teams (ie, picking at the top cause they finished in the basement) a shot in the arm for a better chance in being immediately competitive, rather than just hoping some of their keepers develop over next couple years.
It also helps with league turnover, so teams don't get discouraged and not return the following year...there's always a chance![/quote:50225542b4]
We'll agree to disagree, as I've said before I'm seriously considering starting an inclusive keeper league, cause i feel so strongly about this.
I'd never force it on anyone here, which is why I don't vote, but there is no way you'll ever convince me that excluding players is a good thing.
