HAL's love affair with Frank Lacorte

Postby Larryrickenbacker » Mon Mar 12, 2012 11:31 pm

Howdy,

We're talking 70s, here. My 1st place team has two good relievers in R. Eastwick and Doug Bird; both having thier '76 (best) cards. I've got Eastwick tapped as my "closer", with Doug Bird unspecified as to a bullpen role.
HAL is reluctant to employ Doug Bird in tied games or when we're down by just a run. Instead, HAL opts for Frank Lacorte or worse-Bo McLaughlin!
Lacorte isn't pitching [i:5903c2c882]that[/i:5903c2c882] bad, but he's no Doug Bird ('76)! Lacorte is losing game after game. How can I get HAL to tap into Doug Bird in close games? My 4 game lead is down to a tie for 1st, due largely to HAL's love affair with Lacorte! Help!

Plug Lacorte into your starting rotation settings but also pick all of your per game starters (not selecting Lacorte of course). Unless you absolutely need a reliever in extra innings, Lacorte shouldn't pitch at all.
