Still Crazy After All These Years League

Congrats on the '01 title, Meat. We blew a 3-1 leans in game 6 and deserved to loose - the best team won, IMO.

Paging Grover

Will you be making a final pick? Or staying at a roster of 29?

New manager needed in PCDKL

Postby tcochran » Tue Feb 14, 2012 9:49 am

The "Pre-Card Draft" Keeper League is seeking a replacement manager. One of our folks has gone AWOL for more than 10 days, with the free agent draft not quite completed and the prospect draft on hold.

If you are willing and able to be involved in another keeper, then let me know. We plan to start play on the first day the new card set comes online.

In case you missed it...

I asked Bernie a few questions earlier in the week on the main SOM forum about the 2001-2006 seasons. Here's what he said:

* * * * *

[quote:eccadb6218="bernieh"]

[quote:eccadb6218="tcochran"]Bernie, now that you've got the 2011 season started on time -- congratulations, by the way -- what can you tell us about the earlier seasons?[/quote:eccadb6218]

I'm afraid I don't have a good answer for you yet. My one and only focus is the huge task of getting the new site built. But I promise that I'll fill you in on our other goals as soon as I can wrap my head around them.

[quote:eccadb6218="tcochran"]Also, when the older leagues do surface again, will the salaries be updated? It seems that SOM has a much more realistic set of salaries today than it did in the earlier years. Will the old ones be fixed?[/quote:eccadb6218]

This I can pretty much say yes to.

[quote:eccadb6218="tcochran"]And finally, is there any chance that other full seasons will come online? The offline versions of other seasons already exist; will they gradually be brought online, too?[/quote:eccadb6218]

I imagine so, but we haven't specifically planned it out yet. Again, we have much bigger immediate priorities. [/quote:eccadb6218]

Put league on hold after 2002?

Postby tcochran » Sun Mar 18, 2012 6:30 pm

Rather than skip several seasons and then pick up in 2007 with the few players which might still be worth having, I would suggest that we put this league on hold after the 2002 season ends and then pick up with 2003 when that year is available on the new site.

In the interim, of course, I would also suggest that we keep playing, by starting another NEW retro keeper with the 2007 season -- draft for the new league to begin after the 2002 season ends in this one.

What do you think?

I like putting it on hold until 2003 is available on the new site.

I would be up for a 2007 league. I would ask that we wait a few weeks until all of the new 2011 leagues are up and going.
