ALL-TIME LEADERS UPDATED

Postby padrenurgle1 » Mon Mar 19, 2012 3:15 am

2009 was a historic pitching year for the RITY.

Tim Lincecum won the MVP AND Cy Young Awards (Only RJ had done so previously). He set a new record with 28 wins, and also placed in the top 10 in WL%, SO, SHO and CG. Neftali Feliz set a record for the lowest ERA ever with a phenomenal 2.00 and had the second best OPP BA (.172) ever. Huston Street tied Mariano Rivera's 2004 mark of 52 saves. Chris Carpenter finished behind Feliz in ERA with 2.33, also the second-best ever and the best for an SP. Other pitchers who reached top 10s were Bailey (ERA), Maine (OPP BA), Nathan (SV), Madson (SV%). Darren O'Day and Trevor Miller placed high in preventing inherited runners from scoring.

The offense suffered (by consequence) and few records were challenged. Ichiro finished high in hits (he has 6 of the 10 best seasons) and batting average, and Adrian Gonzalez cracked the top 10 in SLG. Crawford and Bourn made the top 10 in SB.

TEAM RECORDS UPDATED

Postby padrenurgle1 » Mon Mar 19, 2012 12:26 pm

(Lincecum's win record is fixed, thank you)

Several all-time performances by the 2009 teams.

The 2009 Dwarves, playing in San Diego and led by Neftali Feliz, were the most fearsome pitching staff the league has ever faced. They set the all-time marks for ERA (3.47) and WHIP (1.15). The Dwarves now have have the 5 best team WHIP seasons. The other team all-time record was pitcher strikeouts; the Expos, behind Timmy Jim, whiffed 1500 batters in 2009.

Other 2009 teams that had top 10 performances:

EXPOS: wins (102), saves (59), ERA (3.70), WHIP (1.28), SLG (.501)
DWARVES: saves (59), strikeouts (1403)
LIGHTYEAR: saves (60), strikeouts (1352), AVG (.283)
LUMBERCO: stolen bases (235)
VIBRATIONS: stolen bases (156), fielding % (.990)
