Roster update is ready

Postby kaviksdad » Sat Mar 24, 2012 6:42 pm

The updated roster has been set to WPWangFuddle & ThisisRay for distribution to the rest of the league.

We're on track to begin the draft Monday morning. Good work guys.

Great work, KD. I'll send it to the league very soon, and set up the draft thread. We'll start on Monday, officially, but I see no reason people can't make picks as soon as they're ready. Note that there is a 3 hour clock on every round AFTER the first, and only on M-F from 10AM - 10PM ET. If you are unable to make your picks, I will be available to take proxies.

Ray,

What is the official ruling with regard to tiebreakers in record? Peter and Hawk tied, with Hawk winning the heads up series. I thought in the past we had given the winner of the heads up series the better pick, but KD seemed to think the opposite was true. I'll set it up KD's way, but people should be prepared for the potential of those two swapping places if Ray rules otherwise.

Here is the basic draft order, NOT taking into account any trades of picks:

1 - Bbasebrawl
2 - Aray
3 - Kaviksdad
4 - Jagman
5 - ThisisRay
6 - BillyV
7 - Roscodog
8 - WPWangfuddle
9 - Peter
10 - Nythawk
11 - Smitty
12 - ThisisDan

Ted - I've always operated under the philosophy that "losers" always get the edge over "winners" in any kind of tie-breaking scenario. In these leagues the free agent draft order is always based on worst record at the top of the draft and down from there. I've never seen it done any other way - but then again I don't play but 7 leagues a year.

I look at any head to head tiebreaker in the same way - the loser gets the higher pick. That's how I run my leagues, and it's how I see it done in the others, although I can't recall if we've done it the other way. And since I'm not a "charter member" of the league I can't say what any intent was when the rules were drawn up. So it may well be that past practice is for the winner of a head to head matchup gets the better pick position here.

May be willing to trade down.

Looking for everything in return: more picks, prospect picks, players, bubble gum, etc.

Feel free to make me an offer.

BJ Upton

Isn't on anyone's roster on the update.

That's a mistake - BJ Upton is on Nythawk's roster and can't be drafted.

Hawk - you were at 29 on your roster, so no extra drop is needed.
