Rizzuto vs. Wagner at SS in Forbes '57

Rizzuto vs. Wagner at SS in Forbes '57

Postby egvrich » Sat Mar 24, 2012 4:27 pm

I currently have the $11.35 Honus Wagner in Forbes '57.

Anybody ever use the $8.46 Phil Rizzuto there before?

Pros: Better defense, no extra game injuries, same speed, lower gbA's.
Cons: Less offense, less base stealing.

I only have about $15 mill in my pitching staff, so I could put the extra $3 mill into the staff

Here's the team:

Any Thoughts???

that my friend is a last place team.

use the 7mil wagner, and the 10 mil speaker. spend the extra on pitching. you want low whip pitchers without BPSI.

Ouch ... That almost makes me want to leave the team as is to see if you're right ... :D

I did consider the Wagner swap, just hate the damned injuries.

Pick up Ed Delahanty for Joe Jackson. Use the little Speaker and little Honus cards. Swap out Serrell for Larry Doyle - trust me, he hits enough to cover for his D. Drop Dick Seay for a cheap defensive replacement like the .85 Mazeroski or Ski Mellilo. You can platoon Maz with Doyle if you get him. Put Larry Gardner or the 3.77 Buford at 3B.

Grab Score as a #1 starter, the 5.53 Ryan as a #2. Keep Donald, grab a reverse lefty and reverse righty 5-day starter and use those 3 as your #3-4 starters. Pick up a useful .5 mil starter-reliever like Rick Wise or Mike Madden. Use the rest to upgrade your bullpen.

Have fun.

Here's another vote for the $7.92M Wagner card.

He missed 3 games for me.

Never use the expensive Wagner card at 80M. Just get a guy like Ward to back him up. Then get a real 2nd baseman. I'd prefer a Fox/Beckert platoon.

If you are going cheap on the pitching I'd get a good reliever. Murray, Sutter, Radatz, Wilhelm are all fine for your park and worth the money. I'd bag Cuyler and go for a cheap lf leadoff platoon of Jamieson or Bradley and Clines or Shano Collins. You also don't have the best cheap non* pitchers, although Donald is certainly a fine choice.

Don't like Molitor either at 3b or your catcher either.

I'd keep the expensive Speaker card, just go lighter in LF.

Then go kick some Alabama White Pride ***.

Have alot agreement with Petrosian. I would get a cheaper sub for short and second and would upgrade the relief pitching and for someone that can for 4 or 5 innings.
Also your team can't hit lefties that Delantly idea sounds like a good one, the .407 average - is awesome.

Doing the raw math, in the league as it stands, my team will face RHP's 73% of it's games, that's why I went heavy on the Lefty batters.

I actually had Delahanty and dropped him for Jackson due to that fact.
