Why would you think it's a good idea to send almost $5let million for a middle reliever at an $80 million cap? And if you did, why not use Willie Hernandez and get the benefit of a much better card?

Willie is definitely the bomb in his price range. Don't think I've ever had a truly bad season out of him.

Hey go easy on the guy. It's a legitimate quesiton.

That Lolich card seems like he'd be pretty dominant out of the pen but the guys are right, in 80 mil the money could be way better spent. Everyone here (myself included) has spent their imaginary money in sillier ways.

I'd use him as a starter especially considering that pen. It's not fantastic but it's more than good enough with those two guys. Then again, it's you team and you should try what you want to. It also seems like more and more teams with unconditional strategies are winning.

Pretty sure to post a team you go to the standings then click on your team and use that link.

Looked up Lolich's cards after reading your question and wow, he was a monster in 73( his more expensive card). 376 IP,308Ks and 25 wins. They don't make 'em like that anymore, looks like a card from 1910.

I remember going to Mickey Lolich's Donut Shop when I was about 10 or so. That also would be a good name for a team.

I don't think anyone in 1910 averaged 7.3 K/9.

I stand corrected. Walter Johnson K'd 7.6/9 in 1910. Joe Wood was second with 6.6.

Lolich's 376 IP would have led MLB in 1910 by 6 innings over Johnson (and 6.1 over Walsh).

His 308 K's would have ranked 2nd, behind Johnson's 313, but way ahead of Walsh with 258.
