Question from a newbie

Question from a newbie

Postby Friar_Tank » Sun Apr 01, 2012 12:10 pm

I have recently signed up for a free trial in a ATG6 pre WW2 league. It's a 12 team league, and I am it's 8th entrant, yet I'm getting a little impatient for it to fill. So my question(s), is how long does this type of league typically take to fill? Or should I play a different card set? The thinking being maybe more people would be inclined to play a more recent set of cards, say 2011.

In addition, even though I'm brand new, I'm willing to pony up and buy a team and take the likely beating that comes with it, yet I'm concerned about competitive balance within that league, if my team is atrocious. Suggestions?

Maybe try posting a link to that free trial offer and you might get it filled quicker. Some people on here have never tried a free trial and just jumped right in to the full seasons instead.

I would suggest you look at the Barnstormers site and look at some of the teams that ended in the top to get an idea of how teams are constructed at different parks. Click on the managers names and you can see the different teams for different parks and caps.

On your timing question restricted free agent leagues take longer to fill than regular leagues. But once a league gets to 9 or so it fills pretty quick.

Keep your eye out in here, there seems to be a league for newer players quite often. Good setting to just try things out and still have fun.

I'd just join the first 80M or 100M league with the full card set that is available.

I think is what I will do. Thanks to all for the insight.
