Sunday Afternoon Quandry

I have this team in Arlington (7/5/7/5) in 80m noDH league. Hilltop, Minute maid and League 34 are my division mates. Only 2 LHSP in my division, but plenty outside.

I like it, but I am not sure if it is good enough. I swap between Mattingly, Terry. Howard and the C Cooper (.352 card).

I guess the real issue there are TOO MANY choices.

I have had decent luck with Donny Baseball and Terry, but can't seem to track down which team I used them on. I know that I used Donny in Riverfront '78 and more than likely had Terry in Three Rivers (he was a late season pick-up). I know that doesn't help much, but it's something.

Ok---I dug up the numbers on Mattingly '86--I guess I may be crazy in thinking I had Terry. For now disregard that. Ha!

Donny (facing mostly RHP) in Three Rivers '71 hit:

.328/.359/.556 with 48 2B, 6 3B, 31 homers and 118 RBI. He essentially carried the O with Dale Murphy '82 who had a slash line of .269/.354/.570 with 52 HR and 134 RBI.

Had a couple decent table setters with McCosky and Waner.

UPDATE: Found Terry (not the 400+ card, it's the '34 card)!

Griffith '24---had a very good staff and a lot of small ball guys--

Bill's line was .316/.370/.399 and 68 RBI's for a team that struggled to score--not overly impressive but just a touch below card. He hit .342/.380/.409 at home, so he actually held his own in front of the home crowd.

That is good information Donny seems to be Cooper with a better left side. I am inclined to keep him and see what happens.

I think that's a good call...at least with the limited experience I have with Donny...I haven't gotten a chance to check out the .352 Cooper card yet.

I found another example of Donny Baseball raking, this time in a pticher friendly park (Griffith '24). This time the L/R splits were more even.

.335/.366/.537 with 53 doubles, 2 triples, 25 homers, and 97 RBI.
