Not a big deal - gives every one a week to fine tune their rosters and catch up on other drafts.

As we wait for the start of the new season I'd like to offer up a few rule change proposals for consideration.

One problem our keeper league (as well as others we play) has is a general lack of excitement around draft time in the spring. And the primary reason for this is player pool dilution. I know I'm not too thrilled to be drafting a $2 relief pitcher with a 1st round pick!

So to combat this "malaise" I offer 3 proposed rule changes:

Change One:

Beginning with the 2013 season we will become an "Unleashed" league. This will bring in those cards that aren't included in the normal online set.

Change Two:

Beginning with the 2012 season, the prospect draft will be reduced to 2 rounds, held after the spring free agent draft.

Change Three:

Beginning with the 2012 season, the supplemental draft will be reduced from 3 rounds to 2.

Talk amongst yourselves and let know know what you think - then we'll have a little vote...

I heard a few early reactions -

What I've put out there aren't concrete rule change proposals YET. And they are not an "all or nothing" group of changes - you pick what you like.

My goal is to increase the player pool in our spring draft. I know we can't replicate that initial draft talent base, but these spring drafts have become so dull and routine that the interest level isn't what it really should be.

If you've got other proposals throw them out there - if we can come up with ways to accomplish what I'd like to see for the league I don't care where they come from.

So I'd like to hear some other possible suggestions
