Of course I still lost 2/3 games, so limited glory...

That's why this game is so ridiculous. When have you ever seen a MLB SP stay in a game and give up 21 runs?

Ah, but only 18 of them were earned.

On July 14, 1925 Dutch Leonard pitched a complete game allowing 12 runs on 20 hits.

Of course his manager was Ty Cobb, with whom he was feuding. Cobb refused to take him out of the game.

Leonard got his revenge the next year when he went to Ban Johnson about Cobb and Speaker allegedly throwing a game on September 24, 1919. Both lost their managing jobs, but were then cleared by Kenesaw Mountain Landis.
