geekor -- I agree that Fenway is THE park to try to beat the 2011 trend -- first 2 of my 3 teams are in Fenway -- alas, .500 record so far

Ok, I missed 4/9, but built a hitting team in a pitchers/neutral park. Average of 43 OB over the lineup, with only Sandoval the only one not having 40+ OB chances on both sides.'

If this team STILL doesn't have a team OBP at least .350, something is wrong![/quote:751882f8b5]

Most of my success in 2010 was in Busch Stadium. I have four 2011 teams in Busch 2 winning 2 losing. At a glance it seems like most of the high OBP guys are sluggers so Im trying an all hitting team in US Cell. Same league as Geekor. I drafted 2nd to last and am amazed I could put this team together. Will see what happens.

the cards reflect the mlb pretty good the last two sets in my mind. plus, with teams using 18-to even 30 diferent pitchers in one year, there is a plethera of good pitching in these sets so the offense wil def take another hit because of that.

im just puzzled on the over valued defense rating at key positions, i have to waste how much on ryan or andrus? geesh

i love the newer sets bc i love doing cheap pitching and solid defense teams

im sorry but damn i love edwin jackson, im a big time cardinals fan too. hes not on this team but after 10 starts and 70 innings hes got a 2.50 era and 1.05 whip and is 9-0 haha

my teams are deadball era masters if your in leagues with me, i use lots of screenames

btw bautista is god in the right lineup check out whats hes doing for me

Why would Bautista hit like that in Progressive? I have him hitting much worse in Angels.

Maintaining a high OBP is usually one of my goals...particularly heading into this season when hitting is so hard to come by. There are a few gems in this set that have served me well (I have team OBP% of .337, .328, and .334 for my 3 active teams).

Reed Johnson: .313/.371/.469 (Target)
Michael Young: .316/.369/.431 (Kauffman) .373/.432/.499 (Target)
Joe Mauer: .331/.383/.428 (Kauffman) .282/.327/.374 (Nationals)
Andre Ethier: .310/.370/.437 (Kauffman) .280/.342/.411 (Nationals)
Ruben Tejeda .245/.341/.293 (Target)
Jason Bourgeois .304/.345/.385 with 20/25 steals (Target)

I think Reed Johnson is an incredible value (2 range in both corner OFs, Even Splits, $4.99M). Young can be played at 2B (barely), 1B, or just DH.

Ethier and Bourgeois are straight platoon pieces, obviously.
