Doubles and Triples ratings?

Doubles and Triples ratings?

Postby PJ Axelsson » Sun Apr 15, 2012 9:09 am

I'm probably missing something, but my guess is that I ran into the doubles/triples ballpark ratings last night?

I had a game where Willie Mays was facing Lee Smith. The roll was a 1-8, which on Willie's card vs. righties is a DOUBLE (lf). The play resulted in a ground out to 3b.

From what I have heard, in later innings 3rd and 1st basemen can guard the lines. This might have turned a double into an out.

But those more knowledgeable should chime in.

Yes, that was likely in the late innings, when a corner infielder can "guard the line." This results in some doubles becoming gbB's, and some gbB's becoming SI**.

The doubles/triples ballpark ratings can change doubles and triples into fly outs or SI**, and vice versa. It apparently alters the split ratings for individual rolls.

That makes more sense. I knew I was missing something.

Willie Mays has had such a hard luck season with the dice so far, I've had a hard time not releasing him. This fits in perfectly with what has happened all year.
