Just a crazy thought but...

If you build a hitting team, your pitching staff naturally suffers. Right? So instead of putting the team at Baker, Which makes your pitchers worse, put them at say Candlestick? Some of you may remember that a while back I made a couple of teams. A Pitchers team at Sportsmans' 34 (lost Finals). A Hitting team I put at Griffith (won Finals). Not conclusive by any means but I think the park should beef up your weakness. Your strength takes care of itself. I'd be curious to know from some of you guys with a lot of strong hitting teams, How you fare in the tough pitching parks like the Stick. The results might surprise you. I think your run production will be down BUT your winning percentage will be up.

I have tried this, and every time I have it has been a disaster. Of course, much of what I do is a disaster.

Pitching only suffers because one goes with cheapass pitching that sucks , thinking they will only give up 6 runs while you score 7 . That doesnt work. I spend 30M + on pitching at Baker and those teams win more than lose .

As far as pitchers parks you need at least 3 guys to drive in runs , since they are at a premium .Speed , good obp , and Hank will work anywhere !

I have done it several times with some good success, here is a ring team.

Key is getting the really good high OBP guys with speed like Cobb, Wagner, Speaker, Kiki. Back them up with high SLG guys like Musial, Hornsby and Gehrig.

If you miss the jackrabbits then you are in trouble.

Power in the 4-5-6 and obp 1-2-3, d and speed in the 7-8-9.

Now, if I'd only listen to myself.

BTW, the idea for me originated with Coach Rich, we refer to these types of teams as "hurlers" teams.

I have several teams which I would also characterize as hurlers, but that really is more of a reference to the effect it has on me to produce emesis upon reviewing their results every morning after another night of carnage.

Here is a team at '87 Busch featuring some heavy lumber that is off to a 41-25 start.
