Chief,

Well, DT isn't going to pitch well and he's going to score runs so that's going to skew things a bit. OTOH Big A should pitch well and I think we're much better than we've been. Your pitching looks at least middle of the pack. We'll see how things evolve. What did the Sims say?

Jet[/quote:2555170f09]

My early season sims trended the stronger LHSPs favorably. The number of LHBs that hit LHSPs seemed limited and expensive e.g., Joey Votto. So, Lee and Hamel were consistent 16+ game winners per sim. So far, Lee is and Hamel struggles. In running leagues, Hamel is .600 win%. Otherwise, he pitches a boat load of innings fot my team.

I attribute Hamel's struggles to my pitching controls and the rolls Many of his games have a disportionate number of hitter card rolls. I made a few changes to the settings and we will see how it goes for him.

As for the bats, the heavy R tilted RHBs paid off better than the LHBs with the number of Matt Cain's in the roster pool.

Okay.

I struggled with Hamels' card and its performance after 6 games. He had a fair number of outings with favorable ratio pitcher card rolls. His card underperformed my expectations primarily getting hit hard by LHBs. On the other hand, Wilson fares better with the E rating.

In the sims, Shields is a star or a dog. However, the slight reverse RHSPs have the upper hand heading it to the first turn.

You're not kidding!

Semp,

Well, Hamels is one of the higher priced SPs in the set so you *would* expect more. The question is whether six starts is really enough to tell. It's a SSS.

Joe

You're probably right. Of course, the Big East Division is clearly the hitters' division with all four teams in the top 5 in batting.

Going to be a very long year for the pitching corps.

Especially, for the moment, when my team comes to town. 8-)

I will enjoy it while it lasts ... my team is 3rd in offense ... however I am playing in a pretty tough pitchers park ... on the road though my batters get to let loose (sort of like a reverse Coors Field effect) ... to the tune of a team road SLG of .526

Probably shouldn't jinx our team, but we're over .500 for the first time this season. Maybe the first time since NLD 28!

To celebrate we provided a cake for the boys
