Nobody actually went over $50M. Splinter was looking at the wrong total. He was looking JeHale who had already picked a player in the 9th rd. That is why he was over $50M. He was legally over $50M.

Actually Kev, guys did go over the $50 million.

In order to get to the required 8 keepers, 2 or 3 guys, including myself, slightly went over.

I don't think there was any other way to make the draft work without getting up to 8 keepers.

Sorry, I meant no one went over $50M with legitimate players. The $.50M dummy players of course pushed the payroll artificially over $50M. I was referring to the situation in which he was looking at JeHale's $55M due to JeHale's 9th rd pick.
