How many leagues does Arky Vaughan lead in MVP race?

Munich Man I agree with you

I agree with Munich Man. What is the big deal. There are like twenty plus stud relievers now. Every team can have one, two or three studdly relief pitchers. That is pretty unrealistic as well. There cards are better than Pete Alexander, Greg Maddux.

I mentioned this in another thread, but there is no increase in league wide ERA, OPS, WHIP with the addition of these super cards, ie. Arky, Eddie.

Arky is killing it in the league I'm in right now (not on my team). After 144 games and 564 ABs:

46 HRs  .406 BA  .503 OBP  .739 SLG  1.242 OPS

He's 2nd in the mvp vote. The Babe, who has more HRs and RBI than Arky is first, but Arky has 60 more hits, has scored more runs and leads Babe considerably in BA and OBP. Very impressive #s.

it's not the aspect of it being a 12 mil card; it's that arky's season that year is indeed a 12 mil card--but shouldnt be. at least that's the issue for me. too many natural HRs

The question should be [b:cf954ece27]is not[/b:cf954ece27] how many leagues is Arky the MVP...but what [b:cf954ece27]% of teams wins a Championship with Arky[/b:cf954ece27] ...I would be interested in that.

I think some are missing the point completely.
Got nothing to do with how 'well' the card performs.

Its that the card DOES NOT REFLECT Arky's season- Primarily, the number of HRs he had per the number of ABs.
He ONLY hit 19 HRs in 500 ABS.
Now compare that to others who have hit 19 HRs in 500 ABs- are the HRs on the cards remotely in the BallPark so to speak?

So Vaughn hit 19 HRs, in Forbes, in only 137 games. With that, I don't think 50 +/-10 or so HRs is that extreme given ballpark effects. I mean, Bonds regularly hits 90+ HRs, Ruth, as well. Why aren't we complaining about them? In a current league, Ryan Howard already has 60 HRs in 129 games.

In the same league Ruth has 77, Bonds has 66, Kiner has 63, Maris has 63, Mantle has 61, Belle has 58, Sosa has 70... TOSS THEIR CARDS OUT!!!

(Vaughn has 28, in that league, BTW)

I think this is much ado about nothing. Vaughn is truly one of the all-time greats. His card, put in a Fulton County or Polo grounds, is going to way outperform his real life stats. But then so do most cards. That's what ballpark effects do.

Ruining the "integrity" of the game? Hardly.

Sorry but think we arent communicating well:

Arky, great or not, has ANOTHER 1935 card that was meant to be used for that season.
The one we are currently using was meant for a different iteration of the game.

Comparisons to Bonds, Ruths, etc cards arent inaccurate b/c those are the actual cards that come with the year and set from stratomatic.

The best comparison I can make is this:

IF you have a print of Starry Night in your house-
do you want an actual replica of the orginal, or do you want one that another artist has altered and looks a bit different?

I agree that you can't complain about "integrity" in a game where Gates Brown and Ken Smith can rack up full season stats. There's nothing realistic about ATG at this stage. Arky hitting 50+ homers is no more goofy than Smith drawing 130 walks against lefties.

But ... I also agree with El-Saltman that the FantaSim cards should be replaced with actual Strat cards ASAP.
