[quote:a75a6dfe99="socalchiro"]It's amazing someone can make $15 million for policing the fried chicken and beer consumption.

He sure doesn't get paid for hitting RH's...[/quote:a75a6dfe99]

Wouldn't want chicken grease on all those WS rings!

note also most of the yankees are struggling against righties thus far...

vernon wells...well there's a bargain
Joe mauer...well he sucks against lefties worse...so bad he is 4 for 10.
well, not as bad as Pujols against lefties so far--he really sucks. How could he be earning that salary.

You had to be tongue-in-cheek. Smarter than that--I mean really...

Ichiro too--I mean he is 2/9 against LHP. Now he really does suck, no kidding.

The rags reported he broke up with her on 8/26. Let's give it a reasonable fermentation period and time for the news to leak, let's say 4 weeks (he is on the road and all...)

So, on 7/26, he was batting .270 (OBP .333).

In the next 26 games (30 days), he raised his numbers to .299 (OBP .358), scored 20 runs and drove in 16.

So during a month going without, he boosted his average almost 30 points and ran like the wind!!! I guess he had a little more strength in his core and legs..ahem

It's DJ's World.....

Postby The Rivs » Wed Apr 18, 2012 6:36 am

We all just live in it.

Anyone who thinks this guy is not the second greatest SS EVER. Is Wrong.
Anyone who thinks they could do anything he could do on or off the field.
Is Wrong.
To do it in NY, in the Steingrabber era, through the steroid era, hard for anyone, impossible for most. I mean C'mon, the Yankees and MLB have made more money on his #2 Jersey and merchandise than they are ever gonna pay him. (his Jersey has been in the top ten for over ten years in sales) He has earned a lot more than he has been given especially when you compare it to the Bankers, and Hedge fund guys who basically just ruin the world with their greed, and avarice. Derek Jeter is a true class act in a very crass time to be alive, and his existence helps me to continue to do the right thing every day. Just Realize that he will also be close to the top hitters all time when he retires, and he is 4,000 times more effective, and a billion times more mentally stable than Pete Rose or Ty Cobb. Sanity should count for something, gentlemen. Check the scoreboard on the Rings, and shaaaaaddduppaboutit, fuggggheddahboutit! Jeter Haters are just green with envy. I don't want to be him, I want to live in a world where there are more of him than the Haters. Too bad it ain't so.

I dont think anyone disputes Jeter has been a great player and had a HOF career. However, I believe this thread started as a wink at people who think Jeter's best days are behind him. I dont think a 10 game sample size proves that Jeter is gonna win the Triple Crown this year. In fact, at the end of this season, he will be lucky to have an OPS north of .750..........

Well said andy...

And if I might add again... I think he gets too much credit and not enough of the blame.

HOF has nothing to do with class otherwise half the players in there shouldn't be. It's about stats, and he is not even close the #2 best SS ever.
