How do you get a single on catch-X?
From playing the board game, I never remember that happening.
The catcher was Mauer who is a 1
Is this just another sign that I am the unluckiest player at this game?

A "1" roll on Catcher X yields a W/S result, irregardless of the catchers range rating. If no rare play or errors occur, and there are no runners on base (runners on base yields a WP result), then the result is a squib single.
