How about a frenzy!?

$100m DH 5/10/20

Everyone starts with the exact same draft card. I put together a card that is essentially the most expensive starter at each position (except Gibson at C) with only 1 outfielder. The rest of the card filled with $500K "talent".

Basically, everyone will get a top 10 player at every position, you just don't know which one...

Ballparks as you like.

The frenzy will go off the night it gets filled at 10PM eastern for saturday or weekdays. 3PM eastern on Sunday.

I reserve the right to change it if need be (you never know what might come up, but I can't think of a reason I wouldn't be available)

You reserve the right to back out if you can'[t make the frenzy.

So join in. This seems like a lot of fun to me!

Let's get this filled for tonight so maybe Bernie can start it on Monday for us!

Draft card:

1. Barry Bonds 2001 14.54
2. Jimmie Foxx 1932 13.16
3. Nap Lajoie 1901 12.55
4. Arky Vaughnn 1935 12.34
5. Greg Maddux 1995 11.30
6. Eddie Matthews 1953 11.26
7. Bill Dickey 1937 10.38
8. Trevor Hoffman 1998 5.85
9. David Clyde 1974 0.50
10. Ed Farmer 1971 0.50
11. Randy Lerch 1982 0.50
12. Gaylord Perry 1962 0.50
13. Doug Bair 1988 0.50
14. Steve Crawford 1986 0.50
15. Andy Hassler 1978 0.50
16. Joe Sambito 1986 0.50
17. Buck Martinez 1985 0.50
18. Ed Goodson 1977 0.50
19. Ray Mack 1942 0.50
20. Travis Jackson 1936 0.50
21. Ray Oyler 1968 0.50
22. Jose Tartabull 1967 0.50
23. Don Thompson 1953 0.50
24. Dave May 1974 0.50
25. Tito Francona 1963 0.50

Remember. USE THAT DRAFT CARD EXACTLY!

Let's do this.

I don't think this is guaranteed, and at 100M, you probably don't want / can't afford a top 10 player at every position. Creative idea, but I'm not sure enough would go for it. Also, it only takes one guy to even accidentally mess the card up and blow it.

Not sure how this is quite "studs and duds" either.

Actually, that draft card adds up to $99.88m.

I'm not sure what the computer does if it runs out of $500k player, though. I just figured HAL works it out somehow.

I guess I just hoped that everyone would not cheat and they'd use the proper draft card, although it would be impossible to tell. Honor system I guess.

It's studs and duds because everyone will get 8 high priced studs and a bunch of junk. I'll change the name, though.

BTW, I meant a top 12 player at every position, not top 10. I don't see how it matters. Y'all knew what I meant. :P

BTW, the response is overwhelming.

Better not wait any longer. There's only 11 spots left.

Don't be the sucka who gets shut out!

Just to clarify if anyone is confused on this.

The idea is to draft from the same exact draft card. Putting HAL's drafting algorithm into effect for everyone and thus giving everyone an equal chance at a totally random (but solid) draft. Also by including duds on the card everyone will get plenty of dud players as well, to which we can all drop and upgrade as we see fit to the best of our abilities, b/c there is no waiver period it becomes survival of the fittest in building a team b/c time IS a factor.

Right?

Sound like a good idea to me.

question

Postby Rjnewman » Mon Apr 23, 2012 1:01 pm

Does that mean after draft before season starts you can adjust your roster anyway you want first come first served?Or do you have to stay with draft given you? What about ball parks?
