[quote:782ac3e4e7]35,231 + 34,936 = 70,167 games

70,167 / 162 = 433+ seasons

433 x $25 = $10,825

Damn! At $10,00, do they start issuing stock in the company?!?[/quote:782ac3e4e7]

less 34 rings at 2 teams a ring= 68

and assume half of that again for finals appearances...another 34

433-102= 331

331 includes PO games...so lets round off at 330 regular seasons

buying 5 at a time @ $100
5 into 330=66
66X$100=$6,600 over 12 years

$6600/12= $550/year

$550/12=$46 a month(30.42 days)

$46/ 30.42= $1.51 a day

I cant go to the movies with my gal for less then $50 and I can't think of what I spend a buck and a half on a day that I get more out of

[quote:fbc09b7374]1. Watching the replays and seeing HAL managing my team like a little league coach (I leave my starters in way too long in spite of my quick hook setting for them, and seem to pick relievers' names out of a hat when I finally do get around to bringing them in), while managing my opponent's team like Earl Weaver or Billy Martin. [/quote:fbc09b7374]

I can understand the frustration about some of the moves HAL makes. But, that's what you get when you play this game. If you want to make all the moves yourself then you are playing the wrong game and need to find a head to head stratomatic league. Otherwise, sit back and enjoy playing a full 162 game season in 8 weeks.

I, for one, think the pitching settings are very good. I rarely have issues with HAL making pitching moves that I did not have in my settings. Batting and fielding, on the other hand.....

OK, so a buck and a half a day doesn't sound so extreme. Can he still get a gold watch for perfect attendance?

I agree with Knerrpool. With Bullpen v2, I am pleased with HAL's management of my bullpen. (If you're playing a season with the original bullpen logic, you have my complete sympathy!)

If I have a minor quibble with BPv2, it's that it arbitrarily pulls my starters too quickly sometimes!

Note to OP: Be sure you aren't using the don't relieve before settings--leave them blank. For example, if you have don't relieve before F8 (or less), your pitcher will stay in until he becomes (slightly) fatigued, even with a quick hook setting.

Now if you want your starter to stay in until fatigued, then by all means use these settings. (A team with good starters and bad bullpen would want to do this.) Myself, I only use this setting for my first starter in a series if my bullpen got spent the last game of the previous series. Also, my backup-closer/mopup guy gets a rating.

I agree totally! I just completed an 86 season where I left most of the responsibility to Hal. I simply set IP limits and avoid preferences and let Hal decide what role each RP played. I assigned no closer/setup/specialist etc etc.

I won 89 games and my division. Pen saved 50 games(no single RP had more then 15) with 18 BS and went 26-14 overall.

If given enough choice....Hal can run a pen!

And Yes....Kev gets a fine Cross pen set...why I don't know as most of use never use a pen at all!

Splinter, good math work. That is basically what I was figuring as well. Still a lot of money, but I feel it's a value since I still enjoy waking up every morning of the year and checking how my teams did the night before.

I feel like a small gnat vs. the kings of Strat:
nevdully (1,604 teams)- 138,383 wins 118,048 losses (923 playoffs, 283 championships). Figuring about 870 free credits - means he paid for about 734 teams at about $20 each. That comes to about $14,680 over about 10 years. That comes to about $122 per month. For nevdully, it's just a part of life like paying your power bill. We all choose what's important in life. For me, it's either Online Strato or starting a meth lab. I'll stick with strato!

BTW..Petrosia, Frank Bailey, and Bobby are all slightly less than nevdully.
